Local Facilities:
Race office will be at Munchies Lido, which has 2 restaurants, a bar, showers and changing rooms, there are also public toilets adjacent to the beach.
Boat Landing Area and Facilities:
The regatta will be run on one of Malta’s largest beaches in the North of the island in Mellieha. Europa Cup has been in 2023, 2024 and this year. Launching and retrieving is easy and safe.

December daytime temperature is usually around 17degrees celsius falling to 11degrees at night. The average sea temperature is 18 degrees. The average wind speeds in December are around 16 knots going up to 22 knots on the windier days
Local tourist information
Mellieha is one of the northernmost village of main island Malta and overlooks Malta’s largest sandy beach called Mellieha Bay. The villagers a lovely character and picturesque scenes that provide you with a view of life in Malta as well as offering you all amenities for a comfortable holiday. It’s just a 5 to 10 minute drive away from Cirkewwa, where you can easily hop on the ferries to to Gozo and Comino sister islands. Mellieha also has a lot of splendid seaside hotels, good restaurants and many traditional souvenir shops. Surrounding the village are a number of well-known natural getaways that are popular with the locals. Do you fancy a walk in the woodland at il-Mizieb or along the rugged coast at Marfa Ridge, Salmon, on the other hand, offers three picturesque walks to the beach and the rocky coast at St Paul’s Island, while the old army barracks are great for sunrise with a breathtaking view.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be at the DB Seabank Resort & Spa. This is a short walk away from the beach. The hotel is 4star, has 7 themed restaurants, indoor and outdoor pool free wifi and a wide variety of facilities. Euromed / Eurilca Europa Cup participants have a special half board rate of approx. 45€ per night depending on the room type booked
Transport
Driving is same as in the UK and Ireland i.e. on the left hand side. There are speed limits of 80km/h on open roads and 50km/h in built up areas. Signage is same as in any European Union country. International driving licences are accepted. No need to rent a car unless to sightsee the island
